Mixing fat or vegetable oil with petroleum heating oil saves you money while helping to save our planet.
Our biofuel blend is biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur. It also helps reduce carbon emissions and our dependency on foreign oil.
Best of all, the biofuel heating oil we deliver to your home will not cause problems with your current storage tank or heating equipment. In fact, it may prolong your systems’ lives because it burns cleaner with less soot and particulates!
The cost of biofuel heating oil is about the same as conventional home heating oil. But it can still save you money, because there are tax incentives available for families who use it.
Robison’s biofuel heating oil customers get tax break
New York State is offering relief for consumers struggling with high energy prices—a maximum 20-cent-per-gallon tax credit for customers who use biofuels, a clean-burning “green” fuel that is a blend of high-grade heating oil and grain-based oil. Thanks to this credit, our customers can save $200 for every 1,000 gallons of Bioblend fuel consumed!
The new tax credit, which became effective with the recent passage of the state’s budget, remains in effect through 2011.
How to file for your tax credit
To properly compute the amount of credit allowed, the taxpayer should have an invoice or bill that includes the following information: date of purchase, number of gallons of Bioblend heating oil purchased and the percentage of biodiesel included in the Bioblend. (a B20 blend contains 20% biodiesel.)
To receive a tax credit, you should file a Claim for Clean Heating Fuel Credit along with your tax return. Residential taxpayers should file Form IT-241, and corporate taxpayers should file Form CT-241.
